OK, sometimes the printed word is clear as can be. Other times not. Cool.
Now, just for my curiosity, have you pulled the bobbin plate out and removed the bobbin to see what might be lurking under there?
Maybe the fix-it guy put the wrong needle in it?

It almost sounds as if the position bracket that holds the bobbin case isn't in right. That would cause the bobbin case to move when the needle went down and then could jam the machine. (Please don't ask how I know this). Can you get the needle out and get a look as Joe suggested? Hope you find the problem, these are wonderful machines (I have 2!)

I have not yet looked at it, time this weekend has not been kind to the sewer/quilter in me! As soon as I can get at it, I will, and I promise to post the outcome. I intend to try each of these suggestions. Sooner or later, these ol' reliables will be again.
