There are three thumb nuts holding the wires on the back of the cord block. Once you unscrew the cord block mounting screw you can gently pull the block away from the machine and unscrew only the two thumb nuts holding the controller cord on. The factory made controller cords are color coded so they are easy to put back. Those motor / light wires don't look bad in your pic. If you're careful and don't kink them they should be OK.
