Well, I just got back to see how everything is going. So, so glad for Ashlea. She must really be working in rehab. And Rodney and Olivia, you must be working really hard too. It just shows the love on this board kicks in when there is a need. The quilt is going to be gorgeous also. Barny

Gooooooood mornin' R&O: I figured out what you can do with that little extra strip you are adding. You two can sign it for Ashlea--is it wide enough for writing on it? Sign it and date it: First side completed _____________(date) by Rodney & Olivia.....

I think now that the strip is going to be fine.

I just did a quick count of the blocks we have here. The quilt just grew a row. We went over the 84 mark already and while I know most of the blocks are already here, I think there are still a few on the way. We haven't sewn ours here yet either. Anyway, great job of blowing the 40 square number I started with-and now the 84 square goal-out of the water everyone! I am very gratified and humbled by the generosity and support the members of our community have shown for this project.

Cari-in-Oly is going to use one of her embroidery machines to make the label for the quilt right on the border itself. Thank you Cari!
Ideas for what the label should say are deeply appreciated.

Thanks everyone!

It's looking wonderful. I can feel the love just seeing it in pictures. Thank you so much for taking this project on and caring so much.

Rodney,

LOVE IT! I had to go back a couple pages to see the quilt pics, I missed them.

Wifie want's to know how many yards of the blue border and divider fabric you needed. We have have a friend that's fighting cancer and thought we'd make her a quilt for this winter.

Thanks Joe!
I bought 2 1/2 yards so far and I'll probably need to buy some more. I'm terrible at estimating yardage needed.

Do you want some help for your friend's quilt?

Rodney, had to go back a few pages to see the quilt - it's looking terrific! Thanks for all your hard work and enthusiasm - you (and all of us!) are doing a great work of love and compassion. I'm so impressed!

Rodney,

My wife has been a seamstress / sewist from way back. She's really good at estimating yardages. I'll let you know about the help as soon as we figure out what design we're gonna use. I'm thinking a 9-patch would be good looking and fairly easy to make.
