addiction or collection

Not sue how many because I refuse to count... but my adventures on Friday took me to three estate sales - and only bought two machines... at one stop I picked up a 128, there was a really cool Good Housekeeping machine but I passed (think they may be open tomorrow - may have to go back!) and then picked up a Pfaff 130.... another good day!

I have 23...I think. Only two are parts machines. I only started this foray into vintage machines this Sept! I call them inventory because it sounds more like a hobby than an addiction. Things like this> keep happening to me, so my inventory keeps growing. I purchased one yesterday on the fly. A little thrift/junk shop on the way home said SALE all sewing machines $5.00. Well, I just had to check it out. I saw one that looked promising so I pushed it, it weighed a ton, I lifted up one side of the case top and peeked inside, it still had the motor and was fairly clean and was a Riccar so I snagged it.
I brought it home, was going to start removing parts as I really wanted the motor but it looked very clean, almost new in fact, so I borrowed a few parts from other machines, tested it and, Viola'. A beautiful machine that can be rehomed as soon as I give her a bath she will clean up spotless like new. Wasn't expecting it to turn out so nice

Seems like some one at Riccar was a bit creative.
I even like the foot pedal for the green one...

Oh my. I am a novice with 16. I am learning though! if my landlord, gas & electric, cable co etc would let me do my thing ... I would not pay them and have more machines. and then work ... if I could get paid and not show up would help.
I so enjoy reading this web site. YOU are all so good. Thank You

My 32nd is my last. This time I think I'm serious. I have two ultimate challenges, my previously frozen 15-125 which is now sewing wonderfully, but needs a thorough disassembly. The other is a 206K25 in need of CLA and timing which is a new challenge. I think, hope, and pray my stable is full. Time to verify functionality and re-home the culls. Checked with offspring and they refuse to take any.;-)

Ok- I have an addiction. I just bought a Singer Genie off ebay - but it's so darn cute!!!!
Seems every time I buy one on my want list, I find two more to add to it. I've still got the Singer 319 and now I'm looking for a Domestic with an oval needle plate. Well, that is what is left if I get that White Rotary, otherwise that one is back on the list too.
Besides, my husband is off work for the winter, and he needs something to keep him busy and out of trouble!
