Any info on this Singer?
I saw this on Craigslist. The owner had it for display and isn't sure if it works. It looks like it's in good condition, and the cabinet looks good. I don't know anything about treadles, but I'd like to give one a try. Thanks for any info.

It is a model 15. Those are the RAF decals which I think are quite desirable. The decals look like they are in great shape. I hope you go get it ASAP! (If I saw one in my city I would certainly attempt to get it.) You can't go wrong since there will be plenty of help for you if something on it isn't working quite right. Please let us know what you do!

Gorgeous!! I love the cabinet too. As Judy says, it's got a great RAF decal on it. I've only seen the reproduction version of this one, and it was even good looking. I'd grab it. Technically it's a model 15-88, assuming it's in its original configuration, I think?
ETA: Prior to 1936, I'm not sure how old exactly, but the lack of reverse makes it older than the 1936 15-91 I had here.
ETA (again) Ismacs says it's 1935 - 1950s with that decal set

This machine does not have a reverse so it probably is a 15-30. The 15-88/89/90/91 all had reverse. To check ask the seller if the bobbin case finger is pointing to the 1:00 position when looking at it from the solid side. Also ask for the serial number.

Tammi,
I probably would also forget the 15-30 if I didn't own a gorgeous one with Tiffany decals. I believe that singer put a reverse on the 15 in about 1933. The earliest 15-91 that I have seen was a 1933 model. And the -91 has always had a reverse.

Thanks Cathy! For some reason I always forget about the 15-30..., and it might explain why my 15-90 had reverse when the sewalot site said that the 15s didn't have reverse til the 50s. http://www.sewalot.com/singer_through_the_ages.htm

ERG! I meant it was a 1936 15-91, my 1948 15-90 is the one I still have. I love those Tiffany decals! I've only ever seen them in photos. There's one in a town about 40 miles from us that DH took a pic of, and I keep meaning to go look at it in person.
That's interesting. I didn't think the sewalot site was often wrong (other than his grammar and punctuation), but that's confirmation now that I'm not crazy (well, not in this anyway) and there was reverse on a 15 prior to the 50s.

Tammi,
I bet I edit most every post to correct those mis-typings. VBG
I'm don't mean to hijack this thread, but here are 2 pictures of my 15-30.
