I sent this picture to my daughter yesterday. She wrote back today saying that her daughter already has her cake started this year for the Cake Review next week. She said maybe next year.
As for cutting into the cake, do you know what happens to all those beautiful cakes at the fair? They are judged and ribboned a week or so before the fair, and then the winners go into the freezer awaiting their showing at the fair. The fair is six days long and after that, ALL the cakes go - - - - - - -!

my DIL sent this picture to me yesterday! We both loved it but agreed that it would be better to view than eat cause of all that marzipan frosting!
But think how creative this cake decorator is to even THINK of this complicated design! I have trouble just getting a 2 layer cake to turn out well enough to smooth frosting on!
