LiseCecile, I did a bit of detective work for you. Using the serial number K1041499, I found that it is a Model 15-30. It seems that it was built in July, 1903 in Montreal.

I'm glad Maria confirmed that your machine uses 15x1 needles. The correct needles now have 130/705 on the package.

You are correct, that your the last machine is a 15. I have seen machines with the wrong manual. Evidently the previous owner didn't look very closely or have an eye for detail.

There is a good site that helps identify Singer sewing machines at https://sandman-collectibles.com/id-singer-machines.htm
Or you could also look at http://needlebar.org/main/sident/index.html

Whoever stamped that serial number certainly didn't do a very good job. Unlike some of the other companies, Singer did not put any punctuation in their serial numbers. One needs to be careful when they look up Singer serial numbers (particularly ones that start with G). Frequently people will not count the digits and just look at the first few numbers and not count the digits. According to ISMACS your serial number was one of 2000 allocated (not made) July 27 1903 for a 15-30 and for Montreal. There is an app that if you put the serial number in, it will give that allocation date.

    And the browser version: https://picarious.com/singer

That is a neat booklet and part of a Singer Sewing Library books from 1923-1930 era as seen at

This manual should work for your machine - https://www.sil.si.edu/DigitalCollec.../NMAHTEX/0203/ There is also one at https://www.manualslib.com/manual/36...15.html#manual and another at http://needlebar.org/main/sident/15.pdf

    Have fun.

Your second Machine is definitely a Singer 15-30, based on looking at it and the serial number.
It is not unusual for a manual to be WITH a machine and not be FOR that machine!
2000 assigned, number batch was designated July 27, 1903 Montreal.
