Many thanks for the replies thusfar.
As it was a freebie machine and I am actually a little snowed-under with machines (I know many of you can relate to that!), I cannot spend money on parts at the moment. However, I shall keep my fingers crossed for spare unwanted parts for trade (Steve, if you do end up with spares, I 'll accept that kind offer of your, but of course I'd send you something in exchange. Hockey cards, gum, you know.)
Also, knowing that it suffered a blow grave enough to bend the presser foot shaft and to bend the knurled knob-screw atop the presser foot shaft, and that the presser foot itself was buckled over and bent/cracked the plate beneath it, I have concerns as to the well-being of the feed-dogs.
I am not experienced enough to know what to look for in terms of feed dog calibration, angle, etc. If anyone has any pointers, I would much appreciate it! If the feed dogs are hooped, now would be a good time to know...
Thanks again, everyone. I'm very grateful for your knowledge.
