Default CL listing with art deco cabinet at a fantastic price!!!

Just got off the phone with this gentleman who's selling his mother's sewing machine. He has to clear her apartment quickly. He said he believes she got it before she got married and she's in her 90's now. Drawers are packed with goodies, manual, etc., The machine looks brown in the pic but it is in fact black. The desk is yummy!! Someone please pick this up!!!

What an awesome machine. And the cabinet is great. I wish I lived close enough to get it. It deserves to be loved again. And on a side note, the cedar chest that's half in the picture is just like the one Mom had. I can't wait to get my house finished so I can bring it in.

OH BOY, If I were closer ..... I'd have it. That machine / cabinet is beautiful. To bad the guy doesn't want to keep his mom's machine. How sad .

I would get it. I have one of those it is a Domestic and came with all the attachments, manuel, etc. Sews really good. Love the ruffler that came with it. The cabinet looks the same as mine except for the handles. I paid $10 for mine at a yard sale a few years ago. Didn't get a chair with it though.

That's one of my favorite art deco desks. The Singer 42 is the other one. IIRC Pfaff also had a great art deco desk similar to the Singer one but you never see those. That's a great price for that setup. I'm not sure if that's the Domestic version of a White 77 or if it's one style older. I had the White 77 for a while and it was a nice machine. They're kind of neat. You can set the forward and reverse stitch lengths independently.

How strange. I just got back from Value Village. I saw a sewing machine cabinet nearly identical to this one except with slightly different hardware. It had been beautifully refinished/lacquered and was really clean inside. It was $12, I think. No machine or chair, though.
