My husband thought I was crazy to buy this (little does he know how many other vintage machines I lust for) so I was anxious to get her home and ready to sew. Had I not read so much on this board about how dependable these machines can be I would have been skeptical too, but I trusted what I had read and she took off and did fine. But I made sure I had cleaned, oiled and lubed, well before I hit the foot pedal. BTW is the "foot pedal" the only on and off there is to this machine once it is plugged in???? The Featherweight has an off and on switch, but I haven't found one on this machine. Just plug it in and step on the pedal. I'm really happy to have found her. Thanks for all your comments.
