    All good info! I figured out mine has a missing part on the bobbin winder. Have you started the clean up yet? Mine is nearly done - it is kind of like polishing up your boots not hard just takes time. Go do it!

    I've only bought machine oil yet. The weather has been freezing cold, roads iced through. I can't use chemicals inside the house because of the smell, I was thinking of working in the barn but it was too cold these last days, I couldn't feel my fingers when I went to fetch my tools. From tomorrow we are expecting a spell of rain and milder temperatures.

    And... do you thing that this tension spring would also fit our 28s? It only states 27, 127 and 128:

    I would think so but you aren't ready for that yet anyway.

    No serial numer... I must ask Santa's elves: it was my first sewing machine, I don't know if it would be considered vintage as it was gifted me in the late 70's.
    It was much easier to clean than the 28!

    CD & Miriam. When do you folks ever SLEEP?! Your postings show as having been at like 2-3a.m.!!? Does this hobby get to be that obsessive? uh ohhh...
