That's an incredible machine and cabinet. There's some wear to the decals but it's probably better than 80% of the machines out there and the cabinet is in excellent shape. If I had the opportunity I would have bought it too. The molded inserts for the attachments are cool. I don't know if that was a Singer-only thing but some of their regular treadles had them too. What the others said: If it's a space issue, get rid of a less desirable machine and keep this one.

EDIT: Sew-Classic.com sells some tension springs. IIRC they have them for the 27. I have a 27 that needs the tension rebuilt too.

This cabinet was/is well loved. It has been polished frequently and has a nice shine.

That is a beautiful cabinet and machine and I would have snatched it up too! I am also trying to stay with the status quo, but that cabinet would break my vows! You really have nothing to feel guilty about.

Thanks, Rodney! Getting a new spring will be a big help.

Thanks, Cathy! I need to get brave and try some of these attachments.

Ha! You're so right. They just keep appearing...have to go see a 201 with a Centennial badge for $60. It looks like it's in really good shape.

I really like the nice mellow sheen. I feel sad when I see old cabinets that are all polyurethaned and glossy.

Once again, beautiful machine and an especially beautiful cabinet. Though I tend to prefer the mid-century styles, this is certainly one I'd have had difficulty passing up.

Isn't this precisely what CL is for?
