Dating a Vintage White Sewing Machine
#11
This White machine that William brought home to me today is older than I thought... seems to have been made in 1919 from what I can find on the web...I'll call White on Monday to be sure. :)
Poor old thing...at first I thought I didn't want her, but the more I look at her, the more I think she needs to stay!

That link has been changed since this was posted 8 years ago. If you will either start a new thread and post a photo of your machine or just post it here, you will probably get some help.
You will need to reduce the size of your photo for it to post. I usually reduce mine to 96 dpi and have no trouble posting. You can use several different programs, but Paint comes installed with Windows. It's under windows accessories.

From my understanding, the "Family Rotary" model of White sewing machines were produced from sometime in the 1890s to the early 1920s.
After looking at http://www.treadleon.net/WhiteSM/whites.html I'm wondering if there are six or seven digits on your machine. It looks like some of the six digits are out of sequence.

Sculptured lamp housing, friction wheel drive, godzilla finish, blond cabinet all point to newer. But I've never chased dates on my Whites. Yours is earlier than the ones with two twist knobs for stitch length.
