I understand the lotus flower opens in the morning and closes at nightfall....sure there is a mystical reason for using it as a symbol in ancient times.....remember most people were uneducated and therefore picture rather than word was used for communication.......

So you all just keep collecting old s/m.....as for me.....I will just use my one BL, Viking,singer and dust my singer treadle and slide the FW in its case under the sewing table......

hey thats a 5 machine collect if I ever saw one. I really just get these so one one else can have one but me. cept for those that I give machines to.

do you know most all flowers open and close with the changes of light .

You have it right Geri - if you aren't totally in love with vintage machines for themselves, it's not worth buying them.

I will add - 10 years ago the machines were selling for more, so where houses - a LOT more. But the economy crashed and a lot of people just don't have the money they once had for things they don't need. I know a few antique shop owners, and prices haven't gone up on most of what they are selling in a long time, and many things now sell for less.
