Christy, i think Joe has posted about those male connectors, basically you're just creating 3 connection points. You "could" use other solutions, including hard wiring or a cord block if youre not fussy bout authenticity.

    Christy,

If your plug looks like this:

I really don't know where to get one. I've searched all the electrical supply places and hardware stores and have nothing similar enough to work. Most three wire plugs are too big or shaped wrong to work.

Just playing on Ebay and saw a very similar plug for Australian power.

Maybe one of our Australian friends can help with a measurement?

That is exactly what it is. OK thanks for letting me know. You've saved me all the legwork. I'm not actually fussy about authenticity so far as wiring goes, so I had thought I would likely use a cord block for this one.

Hmmm well the local thing didn't pan out, but I am happily cleaning up the stinky 503. A quick test showed me the motor works so what was a parts machine may well be a complete 503. I can't complain about that!

re: plug in 3 wire. One option, extend the 3 wire plug outside the case? not authentic, but relatively easy? or forstner bit to enlarge hole...

I was given a 500A Singer that needs the walking foot. Does anyone know where to look for one? The 500A is a slant needle machine and a regular walking foot will not work.
