Have you contacted the seller? It`s the first thing to do. Then if he/she doesn't answer after a few days, you open a dispute on paypal. You can find info about this on the paypal website.
You shouldn't be worried. I have bought thousand of items using paypal in the last five years and never got any unsolved problem. Sellers wants to keep a good review to stay in business on ebay. Most of the time you don't even have to open a dispute. But it happened to me twice, and I always got back my money. You are protected for this kind of situation.

I'd start by messaging the seller.
Then if you don't get a good response you can file with paypal. You have 45 days to file so there's enough time to get it all straightened out.
The seller is now responsible to ship the typewriter to the rightful owner and the sewing machine to you.

Thanks very much for responding! I did go to the site.

I did contact him. I basically want my money back. I don't want a machine that's been handled by upset recipients and repacked.

i think I'm done with eBay.

Things happen by mistake, but for the most part they will make it right. Ebay and Paypal are a great way to shop.

Ok, seller got in contact with me. He will pay for shipping. But my problem is this typewriter is one of the really old ones not in a case. I don't want to be responsible for damage done by my packing job.

I knew something was wrong lol but there where so many layers and boxes it was like giving birth to a baby by the time I got to the center of it all and I mean like a c section birth pulling open the plastic bag, but it was an alien inside!!!! Scared me, lol

Ask seller if he/she will pay for repacking by someone like UPS or FedEx - which I would consider part of the shipping cost

Believe me - the seller is just as unhappy about this error as you are!!!!
