Well, that's a familiar looking hinged foot. Seems I may have seen one somewhere. Some time back I took my DRESSMASTER to the LSMG and went through all his old feet. I found one that fit perfectly but it doesn't look like that.

Now I have measurements and should be able to ID the feet without testing them.

Wow! I just did a google search for one of these machines and it brought right to the forum....

I saw an ad in my town newspaper for a free sewing machine with cabinet so of course I called, went to look at it, brought it home and it's exactly like yours, Caroline---minus a bobbin winder, though.

I'll have to give it a good check up later on tonight. It's an awesome shade of dark green~

Yes, an awesome sewing machine. Congrats. Did you get a manual with it? You can find it's manufacture date at this link.

It is on the page 123x - 133x.

Mine dates to 1940, serial #127-58621.

Any idea where one could find a free download manual for one?

Well, if DH goes hunting tomorrow, I can make a scan of my manual. I think I owe someone else an threading diagram anyway. Will do both. Do you want actual scan or the manual or a PDF with larger pages?

Where can I find the serial number? I have looked everywhere (except on the underneath parts) for any number that looks like it could be a serial number.

Come to find out....it DID come with a bobbin winder but it doesn't look like any bobbin winder that I've ever seen before. It's on the rear of the machine just above the motor.

It came with a manual if anyone needs a scan of it. Tomorrow I have to check out the odd looking bobbin

    Caroline,

A .pdf would be fine. I can adjust them up or down when I print them out.

    Thanks.

Cathy, did you find your serial number? It is underneath. Lift the machine up and it is on a plate facing you. Sorry for the fuzzy pic. But you should get the idea.

    Caroline,

What does it say on the stitch length lever plate. Your machine looks like it might have a reverse. Mine don't .

Mine does have reverse. Question for you. My 127 came with a needle in it. And for the life of me I can't read the size on it. The needle does appear to match the example in the manual. I brought the machine upstairs to give her a stitching test drive. Have you sewn with your machine?

I finished scanning the manual a short while ago. PM me your Email address I will send the manual as a PDF attachment. FYI, the manual appears to be a generic manual for rotary models 127, 159, 179, 217, 227 and 657.
