Congratulations on the purchase of a wonderful, clean, well kept machine. I have purchased a number of machines for from $5-50 each, BUT they all needed parts and hours and hours of cleaning, refurbishing and refinishing of the cabinets. I think you certainly got your money's worth from what I can see in your photos. I feel your excitement. Enjoy (and don't use any household cleaners on it...only machine oil inside and out) and if you give her the care she has enjoyed in the past, your children and their children will be able to use and enjoy her for many years to come. This machine is from an era when American manufacturing made things to LAST. This is where you can find information on Singer machines http://www.ismacs.net/singer_sewing_...-database.html

I ordered 2 belts today, just in case I have issues . And I also have everything to clean and service it except sewing machine grease. I sprained my knee at work this week...so been stuck on the couch until today. Still taking it easy, but I want to get started. ...like a kid at Christmas.
