It looks like they were making two models in 1903 - one for Family and Light Manufacturing and one for Power and Heavy Manufacturing. I'm not sure if this link will work or not https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=...5qGyHXDdDRo7rQ
If it does the ad is on the page 15 of the pdf

I've got quite a few Famous Buttonholers. they are different ages and/or fit different machines. Did you get a feed dog cover plate for it? they are often machine specific also.

Thanks for the link, it worked. I have so far only seen them on the web. From the add it looks like they made zigag attachments as well, as early as 1903. I need to investigate this further :-)

Do you ever use them? I make clothes sometimes, and for jeans, trousers, and shirts mine actually works very well and can compare to the best of modern machines (...well, not fancy industrial buttonholer machines). My conclution on this is, there is no one step buttonholers in existence, they all require a bit of test sewing, fine tuning for thread size, fabric thickness, etc.

Thanks for all the info. more to learn again. I have it oiled up . I don't have a feed dog cover, but maybe with the right machine I can lower the feed dogs. Such knowledge here. Wow.
