Are you sure it's a featherweight? I have been understanding that the first one's were made in 1935.

Mine is a 1938 model, in pristine condition. She has all her accessories, original manual and has obviously been very well cared for all her life. I got her more as a collectible as I prefer to sew on all my bells and whistles machine.

I live in Dallas and would love to know where you got your Ruby refurbished into that wonderful color. My dear son gave me a Featherweight, "Lucy Marie" named for my mother and grandmother -- but she needs a new finish. Any info you can share?

I have 2. The first is a 1947 I found on eBay a couple of years ago and the second is a 1946 found on Craigslist and was only a couple of miles away. The second was owned by a professional ballerina who used the FW to make her own costumes. Both are scroll face and sew beautifully. I love them both and use them all the time.

I have had mine since the early 70's. It was my grandmother's machine originally. She had given it to my mother - who gave it to me. 1936 - 221. It really is the only one I sew on although I have other machines. Yup - my best friend. All the attachments, original instruction book. I do try to remember to oil and clean occasionally but this baby will do whatever I ask even when I've neglected to do so for awhile. Put a big enough needle in it and it will sew anything! I make clothes and curtains and upholstery - you name it. But mostly I just piece and quilt.

I have a featherweight also. I purchased her on ebay and had to send her out for a good cleaning and tune up. She goes to workshops and travels with me. I guess I should call her "girlfriend" because she is such a good friend and does everything I need her to do.

Yes I do I have two one made in 1955 and one made in 1933 both brought in by two of my favorite guys I used to work with years ago. I haven't named them think one of them will be Donna after Don the person I purchased from. I got the other from Ralph so gonna have to figure out how to give her a girls name. Love em both and they work like charms. My 1933 has the table with it. I am interested in purchasing one made in 1954 since that is the year of my birth. The one from 1933 was the year my mother was born. We are all sew fortunate.
