For those of us who are lucky enough to have one (or more) of these little ladies in our lives we can tell the rest of you this about these little wonders.....they may look cute, delicate and fragile...but, like some little old ladies....they are tough little birds that don't back down from much.....I think Miss Anise looks like she can hold her own with the "tough" bunch...
Amongst the clanging, banging, electric buzzing noises of the others, her quiet little purr sounded just lovely. The tough guys don't scare her a wink!

I have 2 Featherweights, a black one I bought off e-bay 3 years ago and a white/green one that I bought off e-bay last summer. They both arrived in good condition and sew like a dream. I use them more than I use my new Berninas. The grandchildren like to use grandma's "new" machines.

I am the proud owner of two Featherweights.
I purchased my 1964 years ago because I wanted a white one.
Then I just had to have one for my birth year, so bought my black 1954 several years later.
    I love them dearly.

I also have 2, "Ruby" (1956) which I bought off a vendor at the Lancaster show last year, and "Sweet Caroline" (1947) I bought from ebay shortly thereafter. I love them both.

Gramquilter2, I have got to figure out how to make a cover like the one on AmyRose......

Was late when I posted and wanted to mention that after mom died and FW ready to use I was told about a group called Featherweight Fanatics -I believe connected to ISMACS in England. Since I had become a widow very suddenly that FW
group was a lifeline for me because I lived in a very remote
area. Other family deaths then interferred with online group
so I stopped posting but now happy to find QB.

I'll add my name too! I got my featherweight on Saturday! It is a 1939, made between July 11 and Dec. 6,1939. I am just so thrilled to get it. I didn't get it with it's original case as that was too bad of shape to be kept, according to the man who had it. He, a sewing machine repairman put it in a green and white case, which I think is for the white featherweight.
I'm still trying to find out what her name is. She hasn't told me yet.
What can I use to polish it up that won't hurt it nor the value of it?
    Thanks, Janis
