I have two featherweights, one black and one white, complete with cases and basic attachments. I am always on the look out for special attachments and found quite a few. A great source for for quilting attachments is April's 1930s online shop. They are reasonable and very knowledgable.

My husband bought me a 222 for my birthday. The machine was made the year I was born. It is a great machine.

I just won one on ebay , have been looking and searching and bidding off and on for four years now. It's about time,is all I can say. Love her, trying to come up with a name and can't wait to piece a quilt on her. She was made in 1941.

I want to join too! I have a 1948 model 221 Featherweight I got for my anniversary from my DH in 2008. (I posted in another thread that it was a 1943 but hit the wrong key oops!) Here is a pic of mine.

I probably have had my Featherweight longer that almost any one here. (Notice I said "almost", so not claiming to be the longest.)

I got my Featherweight on Mother's Day in 1973, which was my college graduation. My mother got it for me, and I did sew a few things on it over the years, but no quilting. Then I needed to have one of the fancy schmancy machines that are now available so it sits on the shelf, looking forlorn and unloved. I'll keep it forever though for sentimental reasons if nothing else. (I also have my mother's 301 which she bought new.)

I received a Featherweight as an unexpected gift this summer. I am still whelmed. It has been serviced and is in wonderful condition. With attachments.

I have my first (?) Featherweight 221... found it abandoned on the floor of a dingy thrift store. Got it for $10. Yup! I was shaking! Case has no inside tray, but it did have most of it's attachments. I needed to totally strip, clean and lube her. She's been used... but the former owner obviously got fed up? 'cause I cleaned out a thread nest in the bobbin area, the bobbin race was missing it's grub/set screw, the terminal block was broken and there was thread wound around the balance wheel shaft. Hum. She's now working just fine, but I haven't been sewing much in the last few months. Gonna try her out on some simple piecing... and get to know her a little better. It's funny, I never thought I'd get a FW, 'cause I just wasn't enthused by them. NOW, I love them! I've joined the club!
