I think I live in the wrong part of the country! Folks here in Southern California have heard about them and now you see them on CL for $400 to $800 just for a FW. Greedy people!

    Hi Craftybear, I'm in shock,I just took inventory and I have 8 FWs. I have a white one, a centennial and a 222 on the way(that makes 9! Plus 5 other Singers and 1 green Royal. I am not a hoarder,I am not a hoarder. :-))) ).
Since I have benefitted so much from your wonderful links, tips and helpful answers, I would offer one of my 7 black FW to you for the price I paid. The least expensive is one I paid $200, for. If you are interested let me know and I can tell you what I paid for the others and find out if any of them piques your interest.

Yes Sunliten Smiles it would be nice to read about the 301 both long and short beds in all the colors..David McCullum mentions them on his video and a few guilters have recommend them for their drop feed dogs and gear driven motors..would love to hear back from any member who has one as well..May we all have a Good Day!

I just scored with 3 of them! I have since sold one and I have one more to sell. I thought I got a great deal of $350. they all worked great. But by the looks of the rest of the posting I didn't!!! Its ok, I grabed all three since I found them in my local neighborhood. And, I knew that like me some of my friends wanted one too.

I have 2 featherweights. One I paid way too much for and the other one I got for $10.00 so I guess that evens it out I also .

Way back when, in 1952, I took a sewing class in middle school, made a dress and got lucky when I won a brand new featherweight. I hated the dress, but I held onto the sewing machine. It has moved all over the world with me. I still have the table that came with it, which Hubby refinished. I just started quilting last year and am so thankful that I have this little jewel.

    Red face

I have the one my mother bought when I was born. It is a 221 and in great condition. I just got it from Mom and I love it. So easy to clean and work on myself. I also have a sewing machine mechanic who tells what to do it I get into a bind with the works. They are the greatest little machines.
