The 222 is basically a 221 with an arm and removable bed. It looks like a 221 but when you remove the bed it has an arm and you can darn, quilt, mend sleeves, etc. Plus they are harder to come by, making them expensive. Mine will be here soon, I'm really getting antsy to get her.

I have two, one was my grandmothers and I treasure it. I purchased a 2nd one, paid too much for it but it was in pristine condition. That's the one I haul around and I keep grandma's safely at home. I love those machines!

I have a featherweight that my mother bought in 1938. She and my dad didn't have anything to cover with at night and she had to make a quilt. It sews a beautiful seam and just purrs along. I use it occsionally.

I am still looking for one! I sure hope I can find one this year.

    Craftybear.....

Craftybear, I just bought my featherweight from HSN...it was on sale for 249.00 with flex payments. I am in love with this machine, I have never had such an easy time of sewing. You might want to check this deal out.

    Red face black beauty.

Yes! I have a featherweight and I use it everyday. It is the beginning of every quilt I make. I make all my squares on the featherweight. I got this little machine when my Aunt Passed and it has worked for me every since then. I love it.
