Default Veneer replacement

If the table is in good condition, I wouldn't refinish it. I would have preferred to have the original finish on mine, but it just wasn't usable as it was. And now I almost never use it anyway!
I bought a table on CL for $25, but the veneer is peeling in so many places that it’s unusable. Did you have the veneer replaced on yours? If so, do you know what type of wood did they used?

I took mine to a company that makes cabinets. They had several different veneers for me to choose from.

Definitely advertise locally. I paid $700 for my FW and table in 2023. The FW is my birth year, so I was willing to “pony up” for it and I had to drive over 100 miles one way to pick it up. DH did some minor repair to table and I refreshed it with a light coat of stain to cover the little scratches. I advertised it for $300 and it was gone in 24 hours. I just have no room for it so why keep it ?

Default Featherweight table finish

A friend just got a featherweight table, and we are wondering what finish was used. Shellac? Varnish?
It needs a little help. We want to use compatible finish. Sorry for the funky pictures...
