Last month I finished a queen size quilt. Did most of the piecing on my 1951 Centennial Featherweight. Then I did ALL the stitch-in-the-ditch on that machine, right down to the center. The batting was not too thick, so I could roll it to get it into that small throat. Why did I do that when I have a much larger machine? I guess to prove a point; to see if I could; so I could brag about it; but mostly because I just love using that machine.

I have a 1948 221-1 and I like it. I have 2 Spartans and really like them better. They are a little larger than the 221, but smaller than the 128. My Spartan's have a reverse stitch which I really like, but just as important the Spartan's have almost twice the power of my 221 & 128's. The Spartan is a no decoration workhorse an light enough to bring to class or a demo.
