Fold away sewing machine table - reasonable price?
I found this fold away table and I have never seen anything like it before. I have a couple of table less machines and and I'm thinking I would like to put my Singer Rocketeer or my Singer 401 in it. It's in good shape. Does anyone have one of these tables and what do you think would be a reasonable offer for it?

It looks like an interesting table. I'm assuming the bottom shelf acts as a lift and brings the machine up? Otherwise, you'd bash your knees. It looks like it needs repair and refinishing along the bottom? I'd probably offer $20 and see if they'd take it. It really depends on how much you want it.

I have never seen anything like it! Sit at it and be sure that the cabinet does not interfere with your right arm. It seems a tight fit to the space for the machine. Also make sure your machine fits in the space without too much extra room or your fabric could just fall in around it.

My aunt had one of these quite a few decades ago. Wish I had it today. It was solid wood, not like the faux wood you pay for today. I would give every bit of $60+ for it. She had a very small house and small space to sew. Even back then she recycled clothes "HAND-ME DOWNS" as we called them. Her kids always looked good. Never knew she didn't buy them. She also darned socks and would cut them to fit. She wasted nothing.

Yup, this is what I was thinking and why I wouldn't pay all that much for it. Looks and being able to use it fully are two different things:>

Hmm ... I'm looking at the bar going across the top of the cabinet portion and trying to figure out how a machine is going to fit under it. Even if the machine drops into the pull-out section, the bracing bar at the top looks like it misses clearing the right side of the machine by about 3-4" when the machine section is pulled out.
Does the machine section pull out any more to provide more machine clearance (and right hand personal space so you are not banging your elbow against the cabinet)?
Also ... where is the top of the cabinet?
Very interesting cabinet ... but I think we need to more about it or see more pic's to answer some of these burning questions that could affect usage.
If all is well and the machine fits, clearance is good for machine and human, the bottom board does not interfere with your feet or knees, and there is a top to the cabinet ... yes I would offer $60 and perhaps go as high as $70. Heck ... I might even want for myself - I have to share a sewing room with the guest room and this cabinet would be awesome to my every-day working machine back home if I have a guest.
