Joe is right. Go with a new controller from Sew-Classic.com. I bought one of the electronic ones. DH wired it, but they will do it for a small fee. I love using it now and it won't overheat like the old ceramic ones. Donna

Anastasia - It looks like you've already basically gotten as far as that post, but the one I link to in that post (http://www.archaicarcane.com/what-a-pile-of/) may help you with the "going further" part. I think the pedal would resurrect just fine. A little evaporust and a little poking here and there. Great learning opportunity for you! I was borderline terrified of these pedals before I took that one apart. The sizzling steak noises were what put me off...
