Default Formula to bring wood back to life

I read and saw a picture on here that someone had cleaned up a wooden cover for a sewing machine...I just remember they used Olive oil and something with it...thought I had bookmarked it but I didn't..Could someone send me the formula , would appreciate it very much...
    Thanks...

Oil and white vinegar. SteveH was happy with the results using boiled linseed oil and white vinegar. It might be worth asking if the finish is still holding up ok.
There is also a tutorial by Glenn on restoring the finish on old cabinets in the tutorial section.

    Glenns thread

The cool thing about using the vinegar and oil approach is that you can vary the mix to the job, more vinegar=more cleaning.

You can still buy just about any veneer if it's really bad. If it's just a chip or two I just use wood filler. You can paint in fake grain if it's a little bigger and you're good with a tooth pick.

I posted , How do You Clean the Wood on Antique Machines. I included before and after pictures and the results were amazing! The wood still looks great! The coffin was a 1901 and was so dry. I cleaned with equal parts white vinegar and olive oil.
