Franklin 1911 feet and accessories
Does anyone here have a functional Franklin 1911? The ones Sears sold, made by Davis "I think".
They are supposed to be a copy of the Singer 27 and they sure look it.
Mine has no accessories with it and only the one solid presser foot. I tried one of the low shank Singer style feet sold by Sew-Classic and it didn't fit right. The needle hole did not line up with the needle or the hole in the needle plate.
I tried a genuine Singer foot too and that has the same miss fit.
Do I just have an odd machine, or do these actually take different feet and accessories?

Franklin was made by Domestic and later by White when they bought out Domestic. Whether the machine would use Domestic side clamp attachments or they were unique to the Franklin I don't know. Here's an excellent Domestic site:

Jon,
Thanks to the link. My Franklin is the 15th pic on that site, right under the brown Domestic 69 Hi-Speed Rotary.
She's been named Mrs. Franklin and lives in a Parlor Cabinet that's currently burried and blocked in by a Singer Treadle.
I'll have to dig her out and see if any of my attachments will fit. I do have a box full of Singer Mdl 27 or 28 attachments to try. If they'll fit, Mrs. Franklin gets them.

Yep, mine looks just like the one in your pic.
I haven't found out anything as the machine is blocked in by my #2 Singer treadle and some other stuff.
I'll have to check the attachments I have when I can dig it out.
