OP has a Vertical Feed machine, you linked to a horizontal feed machine, so other then they are both Davis, they are very, very different. It's basically a walking foot machine with no feed dogs.
this is your sewing machine it is called Davis Hummingbird Sewing Machine.

Mine also had a funny spool looking thing I couldn't figure out until I tipped the machine back - it was to keep the machine tilted back at the right angle with out you having to hold it. Nice machine!

Some good stuff in this thread, especially about getting the manual from the Davis VF Yahoo group. Need the serial number on the front slide to come up with the approximate age.

We just can not figure it out. Also we can not get the back cover plate off. Not sure what to call it but it is behind needle. Thank you kind people for any help you can give me and if anyone can help me date it I would like that too.
