At the sewing show in Fredricksburg this year I saw a lady doing ruler work using the Westalee ruler foot with her featherweight. She had one of those clear acrylic extension tables- made me want to run right out and get an extension table for my 221

I have not tried it on my 221 yet, just the 15-88 & the 201-2. I do use my fw table as support on big quilts when I use the other machines. I am still having enough issues using machines with larger harp space and feed dogs that actually drop vs trying it out on the fw:-)

I couldn't see the links that were posted, so I'm not sure what you've seen. For free motion work on a straight stitch Singer treadle machine, I was amazed at the sewing that Marilyn Lee does. Here is a link where she makes a doily, and another where she embroiders, plus her Youtube channel. I think her idea of embroidering a printed fabric flower is a good exercise for practice for any type of free motion stitching. Some of her videos give details on how to thread the vintage machine with 2 colors of thread, how to prepare a hoop, and how to remove feed dogs, etc.
