    Steve,
That Florence fancy leg.....let's just say I covet this machine. Couldn't afford her or keep her safe from Grandbaby's toys...so she would be much safer in a different location.

I'm in the same boat, that and i just can't afford it, though I'm not going to say it's not worth it. That machine would have been so inspiring to sit at and sew. I see quilting patterns in it (and the rug below it), and the workmanship would be a goal to strive for. All in all, inspiration incarnate.

It is a full on Lockstitch machine. Like the Early W&W's of the same period it sews sideways.....

Don't know about you, but I am distressed.

I think I'm distressed that painting furniture makes one an artist.

I have used paint before. I have antiqued furniture before. I even have a sewing table that I decided to do this with, but THAT is NOT attractive and yes I am distressed as well.

I am not sure what some of this "white wash" and "distressing" is all about. Much of it looks like I have no taste and did a half-a$$ed job of it.

    "White Elna Sewing Machine"
    http://www.kijiji.ca/v-view-details....adId=600676979

Look who teamed up together!? When I saw the link to the ad, I thought it would be a white colored Elna... but I was wrong. So wrong. "Honestly used" at least....

I'm confused. Elna? Really? I thought all old sewing machines were Singers.

This always cracks me up - they put it back together with the top on backwards - though they did turn the drawers around so they match the base.
