CD, if a 115 has a full rotary bobbin wouldn't it actually be more desirable than a 15? Since 10x mentioned this I kinda wondered why they were only made a short time too.

And 10x, most of the 15s I've seen have had the sphinx decals and some have had gingerbread.

I guess I didn’t say that correctly. What I meant was, when I see a model 15 that I might pass on, I always check to make sure it’s not a 115 before I do pass on it. Yes, I’m looking for a 115, and it’s more desirable, at least to me.

I wondered at what you said. Too bad you don't live close - I have one - crummy decals though - I think it's a pretty cool machine otherwise.

It saddens me to think about 100 year from now that folks like us will be searching high and low for parts for "antiques" like this....

That would be why maintaining and preserving these old machines is important now. It's easy for people to see the beauty in the very old machines. It's much harder to find any beauty in plastic and pot metal machines made from the 80s to the present. Planned obsolescence and electronic circuit boards don't help either.
I also play with old woodworking tools. I thought about that with those too when someday someone will be trying to restore their "vintage" DeWalt plastic-bodied contractor's saw and will be wondering how to restore the faded plastic to it's once bright yellow.
I think I'll stick to my steel, iron and wood machinery and save the plastic for where it's appropriate.
