The worst that can happen is that you could be outbid. Go for it.

    He's not THAT famous.
Pretty Kenmore, I kind of think that machine is a different Kenmore than the Sears brand. I'm not exactly sure when Sears started using the Kenmore brand on appliances and sewing machines but IIRC earlier Sears machines were Minnesotas and Franklins.

    Pretty Kenmore Steve!

Is this a repro in an older case? - I don't recognize the decals and there isn't a serial# plate under the badge.

Yes, that's a repro. It's an NLK and the feed dog knob is a dead giveaway.

Are you sure? I didn't see the NLK number? I just bought a Singer 15k with the RAF decals also in very good condition and it also has a feed dog drop (looks different) but has a real Singer serial number (not NLK)

edited to say DUH, yes I see now I should read before I type...does have the NLK number

Plastic feed dog drop knob, plastic tension assembly, plastic crank handle, even the case is repro, look at the handle.

    same thing these folks ate...
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Antique-sing.../281460700316?

I already let them know that bad news...

This 1879 Singer 9w would be worth millions if it were real, because Singer did not buy the W&W company (whose design this is based on) until 1905....

$650 for a Touch-and-Throw? Ads like those want me to write them a quick note:
