Needs re-wiring and I think they may mean the belt is missing. Cosmetically, it's very good -- just needs cleaning and polishing. The table's not bad but small pieces of veneer are missing. Needs a new bobbin tire.

I tend to value cosmetic condition more than other collectors/buyers, I believe. I figure that innards can always be replaced or repaired and don't have to look good in order to work well but once the paint is full of dings, the chrome is peeling, scratches on the bed, etc., that's it.

Someone brought a Singer 15 over here one day and told me the seller told them it needed a belt. It was frozen up so I oiled it and it worked. No belt needed... LOL

Right, but do they know that? Impossible to say. What would they mean by 'pulley'?

Singer model 15s usually are more than $40 here. That is a good price in our market. It's a decent cabinet too.

I suspect that since they are ASSuming that it needed a belt that the corresponding pulley must also be missing...

It is indeed. This one's not working and I got the impression the other one was mechanically better, but this one is better externally. Similar prices.

    Here's a very good price:

    And even better:

They need some work but great prices for 201s.
