    That handcrank looks the same as the one I had on my New National, and the wear seems consistent with the rest of the machine.

    Thanks Steve. I'm not very experienced at hand cranks. It's just when I saw how newish the black knob looked I thought of the Chinese ones.

    I was looking for thread - saw a lot of adds for tires - all with lots of thread left on them! Found a couple of thread mills too - maybe a treadmill you can use to wind your bobbins?
