I haven't figured out why the PNW seems to have all of the coolest machines! Has anyone noticed that GW also has a preponderance of them in Oregon? Did all of those pioneering women pack up their machines and haul them out west?

I think it's a case of the grass is always greener. I see a lot of great machines on shopgoodwill that are in the midwest.
A lot of pioneer women did bring their machines with them. In that time you would have too when any sort of amenities would have been few and far between compared to the eastern half of the continent. That's probably not the source of most of them though. After the railroads were built it was relatively easy to ship things, most things here are from after that timeframe. Truly old stuff tends to be much more rare.

I agree. I've noticed for a couple years that a lot of machines I'd love to have or think are really cool are on the shopgoodwill site in Tennessee. Some good ones in Florida too lately.

only goodwill deal I've seen out west in awhile was the singer 12 that sold this week for 22$ in Tacoma, with a mire two bids

it seems most the pioneering women ,, covered there wagons ( ford) to keep the dust off there touch n sews. now days give those to goodwill for that tax write off, that they find there not allowed to make
