    wouldnt take much to go from there to a barrel composter with treadle operated roller ;-)

    or maybe an ice cream maker

    I vote for the ice cream maker. Which do you prefer to have spinning and mixing just a few inches from your face?

    Why not? The treadle converts your foot's up and down motion to rotary motion. From there it's just a matter of transferring it to the ice cream maker's crank. Kids would ask to do the heavy work for you.
    I've seen ice cream makers hooked up to old one lung gas engines and blenders hooked to weed whacker motors for making mixed drinks before.

    And just think of how big a batch you could make at once.... mmmmm. I'll never say no to Ice cream....
