$25 model 15s don't come up that often in my market. The cabinet looks like one of Singer's last decent ones as far as quality of wood and workmanship goes. It might be worth the effort though the paint can or flower pot rings may never come out. Are you getting it?
Cari congrats on that Sew-Tex. It's a neat looking machine.

Nope, not even close. It was $16 and change. I got the Sewtex today, interesting machine. Not one I'm likely to keep however. The most interesting thing about it is the slideplate(missing of course) opens from the end but the bobbin is front facing. It has an ordinary industrial bobbin case and rotary bobbin, same as my Brother FZ2.

Sounds like it would be right up my alley then ! Rugged simple little ZZ machine with standard needle bobbin combo that is suitable for a treadle stand. Sometimes this being in Alaska thing has its draw backs.

Is that a giant wing nut holding that tension on?

You know. Now that I think about it the extra leverage might be quite nice on an old spring tension.
