I hate those snooty pooty antique stores! The cabinet looks in lovely condition but I would bet it stays there awhile at that price. Some stores seem to price things extra high without any real interest in selling them. Maybe it's one just for window dressing?

I refer to that as the "I don't want to sell this yet" price. I have even told an Antique store manager that when quoted a silly price. They start to claim to be "experts" then I pulled out my tablet and showed them my collection with the comment "I am pretty sure I have a handle on the market for these...."

Oh - I love that! I think maybe I'll make up a tablet of my collection. BTW- I just added a Howe High arm, and I've got a 1930's New Home hand crank (the one with the big wheel) that should show up tomorrow.

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Antique-Sing...-/331607899970

At currently $42 with 3 days left this is the same machine as the modern sphinx for $2000. I noticed the Goodwill machine had no serial number and looked into this some more and found that another eBay seller was offering this machine as a 1973 authentic Singer reproduction.

While you can forgive the folks at Goodwill for not knowing what they are selling, the guy/woman who posted hers for $2000 should know better.

It's old and black. Of course it's a Singer.

A reason to not let your kids play with paint!

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/VERY-RARE-An...item3f50bf762c

Makes one wonder if the seller realizes what has happened to this poor machine and case.
