Good way to make a buck in your spare time if your willing to ship and effectivly market. Singer 15-91, 201, 301, 401 and a select few others with good paint and decals do pretty well on ebay once cleaned up and often rewired. The problem is finding these models for $20-40 nearby to work on hence this fellers ad.

This looks pretty cool. I could seal up the dog food every night.

    Hi all -

That is my #40 Queen Anne cabinet posting on CL that Steve referred to. I'm amazed how many of the cradles are for sale on ebay, but almost NEVER with the brackets that catch the cradle when the machine is raised. Why don't folks look more closely at how the mechanism works before they snatch out the cradle to sell it???

I don't know about there in Virginia but here in this part of Ohio things are weird. There's a lot of machines way overpriced on CL that have been sitting for months and months. Usually a few cheap and free machines pop up but lately everyone seems to want $350 for a barn fresh 66 in a moldy table.

I'm guessing because the table can be used for other machines only if you leave those front brackets in. I have a table with a 401 in it and have noticed it has the front brackets. Once you remove them, you have no front supports. Many people especially those who collect prefer to have the 301 sit solo and not fill the house up with yet another table, so that makes the cradle available to sell.

That is a cool machine. I can read "Minneapolis Sewing ?????" I can't quite make out the last word. I wonder what else a big heavy chain stitch machine would be good for?

    Love the cabinet:

    Another cool cabinet:

Can't read the sign so don't know if this is for an event or staging for the photo:

Jane Jetson's sewing machine has surfaced after all these decades and it's pink:

    and the chair:

    More pointy legs:

Now I can't get the Jetson's theme song out of my head. Meet George Jetson, Jane his wife....

    OK, back to lurking.
