Lucky you!! I wish I had my Grandmother's machine. I was a young child when I saw it but didn't think to say "grandma save it for me in 50 yrs. I'll want it".

The drawers contained the wooden puzzle box with bits and pieces that I am yet to identify, a patching kit and the remnants of the original instructions booklet. Mostly folded up and ripped but some pages are salvageable.

Try this: http://www.ismacs.net/singer_sewing_...cessories.html

Model 15 manuals are available as PDFs from ISMACS or Singer (or needlebar, from memory) so you will be able to fill in the gaps.

Question. If I was to restore this machine. What exactly would/ should I do?
other than cleaning it and getting it running, what do people do?
anything to the wood? The decal?

I'm not sure what restoring one even means. Almost all of mine have been great working machines, or I've made it so. I'd just re-do anything wrong with the cabinet, oil things and give it a clean. The only one I've re-done decals on (not finished yet) was a bit of a basket case 1891 Model 27. Decals are very hard to replace and I'd suggest leaving yours alone.
I'd just give the Muv treatment: Dust removal and a clean with Singer oil, then lubricate with tri-flow or Singer oil. Don't forget the treadle mechanism. Anything where metal touches metal should be lubricated. Some furniture polish should take care of the wooden top, and you should by then have cleaned it enough for a deep sense of a job well done.
Don't clean the machine with alcohol or you'll lose your decals in about 30 seconds if you do (decals instantly dissolve in alcohol).
