I didn't realize I've been bitten until I brought home another sewing machine. I have a Janome to start. So, who needs another machine? Then I heard some friends talking about a Featherweight. Bought one on ebay. Darling, very clean, and works so well. I also have my mothers's old Singer in a beautiful table. Then I heard about FW's big sister, so I got that one, too. I was in a fave thrift store a couple days ago buying my mother some VCR tapes. Strolled to the back and there was a sewing machine in a really nice table. A 404. The price was a giveaway to me: 55. How could I refuse. Went back to the store and bought the setup. Whoever had this machine loved it and cared for her. Machine sounds a little rough, but what a stitch she sews. Maybe once she's oiled up she'll loosen up and the roughness will even out. All the mechanicals are sturdy and right on with their stitches. No more, though. I don't even sew that much..a project twic a year. I don't remember the #s of the machines at this time. Memory, you know.
