Default Heads up to collectors in SW PA area

Just saw several vintage machines in cabinets at the Scotdale Goodwill yesterday. All priced $25 and under.

Almost got one of them that is the model I learned to sew on but since I don't think I will actually have room for it in my truck when I go back home to Texas next week I restrained myself.

They all looked to be in reasonably good condition but the cabinets in particular would benefit from additional TLC.

Hope they all find good homes!

Thanks for the heads up! I'm a bit far to check it out.

Do like we've done - buy it, pack it up and ship it home.

Cathy has a good idea there. The first time my wife and I went back to Rhode Island to meet her family we did the same thing with a couple antiques we found.
If it's a machine you love it's worth it and a good reminder of your trip. Most sewing machines are held in the cabinet with two set screws on the hinges. It only takes a few seconds to remove the head. You can give the cabinet back to the store. Also a lot of Singer cabinets were designed to be flat packed for shipping. You can take them apart so they take less room.
