I'm a bit intimidated by zips so can't see me making much use of that, LOL.

Just found this too, I had put something on top of it, no idea what it’s for though.

Haven’t noticed any other numbers in the instruction book Janey.

Singer lined their boxes with a anti corrotion paper. It prevents rust forming on the metal. Some feet are nickle and chrome coated but not all, some screws, springs, blue metal on rufflers etc. can rust if there's any dampness. I would keep the paper at the bottom of the box, it makes a difference in the long run. I have been meaning to buy some, mine are missing except for a box with a zigzagger attachment.

I don't know if you care much about the accessories, but I had my 99 box out and the zipper foot looks correct for the 99. Mine has part number 161127 "Singer GTBritain" embossed in the metal. The slide on feed dog cover is "32622". The scew-on covers like those for buttonholers and Featherweights work too.

I think the paper was loose in the case so it may have started the journey in the box but it didn't finish it, LOL.

Yes, part # 161127 on it.

Been looking for a feed dog cover online, no joy so far.

Thank you so much for you help anyone on this thread. Can't wait for her to return home after a, hopefully beneficial, service.

In my brothers shed is my late Mum's Singer industrial machine, wish I had floor space for it, unfortunately I haven't. She used to do homework for a shirt manufacturer (the husband of Gertrude Shilling - big outrageous hats at Ascot).

Right, but from the 99K manuals I've seen they will have info about treadle, hand crank or electric type machine. The machines are the same, just different means of 'powering' them.

The "D" shape feed dog covers 32622 while, sometimes listed alone, can sometimes be found in with other attachments. If you have a sharp eye, they can be seen in pictures of attachment sets on online auction sites.

The VCI paper is fairly inexpensive per square inch, but usually has to be bought in large quantity.

Janey - Neat people never make the exciting discoveries I do.

Very short mention of belt replacement for a treadle Janey.
