Help Idntifying this Singer.
I bought this at a garage sale so cheap it was not funny. I bought my wife a Treadle Singer a while back. This one looks like a 1930s but its so new and unused and some parts are modern like the plug in where the foot peddle would go. Did Singer make or make old machines more recently? I don't think this thing has been used much at all. It came with the cabinet and its all in excellent condition. I have not tested it as the foot peddle is missing. So if anyone can guide me to what model and a source for a replacement foot peddle can be sourced, I would appreciate the help.

I'm not totally sure, but I think it's a 15-88 with Royal Air Force decals. (I'm having a hard time finding a good photos of one.) A photo from the front would help.

Edit: I found it called 15-88 and 15-96, so I'm not sure which, if either, is correct.

It's definitely a model 15 with Royal Air Force decals on it. It appears to be in great shape. Nice find.
It was made either in the Kilbowie plant in Scotland or the St. Johns plant in Canada in the WWII time frame. I've found conflicting information on that. Most say the Kilbowie plant prior to WWII.
Janey will probably know. She'll be along sometime this weekend.
That is a standard Singer plug and should be easy to find. I'll look for a source.

Thanks, bkay. I have been researching the plug as it is not a standard Singer plug. Also it is not a machine made Kilbowie or Canada. It is what is considered a Nostalgia machine and was probably made in the 1970-1990?? time frame. The serial number should be under the front edge of the machine. It should be a 15 NL or it could be a 15CH depending on where it was made.
Some websites that talk about these machines.

My New Sewing Machine a Singer 15 NL
I believe the manual found at http://ismacs.net/singer_sewing_mach...al-rotated.pdf should work for this machine.
I'm thinking that if it was mine, I would probably have John wire a regular lamp cord plug to it and use what is called a motor block. That way you could just plug it in to the block that has a foot controller attached like this one on Amazon https://www.amazon.com/HONEYSEW-Univ...8T22JC7M&psc=1

Another option would be to switch out the motor with https://www.amazon.com/Enduro-Sewing...8&sr=8-13&th=1

I'm thinking that it is possible that there are NL T or NL K which could mean that it was made in Taiwan or Korea. That is pure speculation on my part.

Most of the plugs now have three bump outs and one needs to be careful with those, too. I thought I had gotten the one I needed and while the shape was the same, the size and pin distances were different. Probably why I suggested rewiring or getting a new replacement motor kit.

Another place, maybe would be sewingpartsonline. Thanks for the additional picture of the plug. It looks like there may be some writing on it? but don't know if that will help. I have several three pin plugs. Are the pins all equal distance apart?
