How do You Clean the Wood on Antique Machines

Great! Thanks for the tips - I am excited to use this - I have used boiled linseed oil before when I used to refinish furniture but haven't tried it with vinegar.
I picked up a cute little 'Precision' machine at an antique dealer's yard sale and got it for $1.00!!!! - needs cleaning, a new plug & have to revitalize the case - it is definitely a diamond in the rough and a deal! - will post pics later

It's a bit tricky keeping them mixed. Vinegar is a good cleaner, I may try vinegar by itself, and then follow after with oil. My other "go to" item at the moment, and after testing it against many similarly labeled products is this one. [ATTACH=CONFIG]486597[/ATTACH]
I apply it and rub with a cotton ball and let it set for 5 min, then buff. I warns that there are petroleum distillates and don't use it on lacquer. (Available at the big "W" which I try to avoid)
The white spot is a reflection, on a dull piece of wood.
