    It isn't!

Rescue is THE word, my friend!

Have you visited the VSMS on this board? (Vintage Sewing Machine Shop)

You will feel right at home. Many own wayyyy more than 20 or 30 sewing machines and they willing share all sorts of info to help you repair, restore, and use your vintage machines. :-D

Most of my 20+ machines have been purchased through craigslist... most in my city but many on one day road trips from here. DH and I have lots of fun on those one day road trips. :-D :-D

I haave 23, 6 are treadle machines, 1 is a treadle machine converted to electic, 4 are embrodery machines, 2 are sergers, and the rest are every day machines. I use 7 machines on a regular basis and they are always set up and ready to sew. I couldn't part with any of them.

My question is why do we need so many? I am such a practical thinking person, ugh, I have to have a logical reason for everything it seems. I do want 1 more if I get an Easy Quilter to use with that. Also, I think another to sew on and one to use the embroidery machine so I won't have to use the same one. that' s for convenience. 2 is all I can come up with that I "need".

I love it. Sounds like my hubby and sons, pocket knife collector and guns and fishing poles. But why would I want more than one sewing machine and what are you doing with all that material?

I had to think about how many I have. I use my singer every day, a Brother my mom gave me, a serger that I havn't used in forever, and a Singer treadle in an original table. So I have four currently. Now if I see one at a yard sale or at the DAV my husband will ask me just how many machines do I need. I simply retort by asking him how many guns he needs. He has over a dozen guns, he is a collector, and I have only four sewing machines. Let's do the math...
