    I paid 100.00 - perfect condition and with a beautiful table. You can find them cheaper, I was in a bit of a hurry at the time, but well worth it...they are big and heavy besure you have the space.

    Oh and also...when I checked out craigs list and email all those 200.00 ones..they all went down to 100.00 and less. Just because that is what they are asking does not mean they are selling them at those prices.

    Redeye machines are fairly common, but I don't think $140 is unreasonable. Better if it has the attachments/manual, but still not bad. It really just boils down to how much you want it and how much you're willing to pay.
    1911 is going to use the back clamp attachments unless you change out the presser bar...not that big of a deal, you can usually find the attachments on ebay.

    I vote for you to go get it...and when you get there, offer $125....

    Thanks, all! And I will take all the advice into consideration. Would like to get it down to $100 but not sure they will agree. A lot depends on what I see when I get there.

    I have 6- most were less than $25... one in a nice cabinet was $110. They are extremely common around here.

    Keep in mind that there were many thousands of Red Eyes made, and many still in use out there. Unless they are especially rare in your area, I think $140 is WAY too much. $70 would be a lot for a Red Eye in a cabinet around here (New England), and that if for a cabinet in great shape and a Red Eye well taken care of and with all decals intact. If you let this one go, there will be another.

    The only ones I have ever seen were on ebay.....never seen one in a thrift store or craigs list..........I keep looking and hope is there.............maybe someday............they are sure pretty.......

    This is the first one I've seen advertised around here, of course I don't look all that often, but almost all I see are white plastic ones...
    Or ones that look deplorable and they want fancy prices for...like some I've seen on the "What were they smoking?" thread. One memorable one was 'my grandmas genuine antique' treadle machine they were asking either $1195.00 or $1295.00 for!!!!

    I live in the St. Louis area and Red Eyes are common here. I could have bought one for $25 with the wood cover but they had others for $50 that were just superb. I decided to not buy any more machines right now. Have about 13.
